Xiaomi is a brand very well known for their budget smartphone. The Chinese brand keeps on expanding its portfolio. Interestingly, they also have in-house IoT ecosystem in China. Xiaomi smart home products will now make its way to the US.
Their smartphone lineup includes Mi Bedside Lamp, Mi LED Smart Bulb and Mi Smart Plug. Xiaomi co-founder Wang Xiang posted a tweet announcing the expansion of their smart products. At Google I/O 2018, the brand announced that their smart products will now support the Google Assistant meaning the brand might take it to other countries soon.
Previously, their smart products used to run on Xiaomi’s very own smart assistant. It still does but now we have Google Assistant for the international market.

Mi Bedside Lamp has a touch-sensitive panel at the top from where you can control it. The product supports 16 million color customizations. You can set whatever color you like according to your mood or room’s environment. You can also control it from the Mi Home app or by just saying “Ok Google”.
With the help of Mi Smart Plug, you can control the gadgets connected with it even though they are not smart. Of course, the functionality limits to power ON and OFF. You can use Google Assistant to give the command and it will turn OFF/ON your non-smart products.
Mi LED Smart Bulb does exactly what other smart bulb does. You can control the light from your smartphone. It supports 16 million colors which you can change right from the smart app. Just ask Google and it will turn ON/OFF the light, change its color temperature and much more.
All the above three products will now be available in the US. There is no word on whether the brand will bring its smart lineup to other countries including India. Talking about the price, there is no info on the price on the Mi’s official website right now but it will be updated by the end of may. Just to give you an idea, the Bedside Lamp costs $40 in China while the LED Light Bulbs are available at $20.
