There is a lot of excitement right now in the Indian markets, and the PC market of the country in particular, because Xiaomi is going to launch its first laptops under the Mi brand. Since the launch is under Mi brand and not Redmi, we can expect the laptops to be in the premium segment rather than the budget segment which many are expecting. There are some reports that the Xiaomi laptops will start at around Rs. 70,ooo mark in India. Also, the laptops will be called as “Mi Notebook 14” series and a new report suggests that there will be four models at launch.
This report from PC-Tablet claims to have insider knowledge about the laptops going to be announced by Xiaomi on June 11. As per the publications, the company will have four different models in this series where Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition will be to-of-the-line. From the name, it can be understood that the laptops will have a 14-inch display and will have narrow bezels.
However, the special edition which is its Mi Notebook 14 Horizon edition will have an edge-to-edge “Horizon” display with 91% screen-to-body ratio. It will have a 10th-gen Intel Core i7 processor along with 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM and Nvidia graphics card. The laptop will be lightweight at 1.35kg with the claim of 10-hour battery life.
Talking about the regular variants, the Mi Notebook 14 will start with Intel Core i5 processors which might be 10th-gen but possibly of older 8th-gen CPUs can’t be ruled out. These three models will have different storage sizes as per the report while 8GB RAM is expected to be common across the board.
The Mi Notebook 14 series except for the Horizon edition is expected to have Intel’s integrated graphics only. It is expected that the base variant of Mi Notebook 14 will have 256GB SSD storage and might be priced at around the Rs. 50,000 mark in the country. As always, we will advise you to take this information with a pinch of salt and wait for the official announcement as of June 11 to make an informed decision.
