Just before its launch today on December 24, Xiaomi Mi Play was seen in a leaked hands-on video that was posted on SlashLeaks recently. The video is not in its full resolution but it shows a lot of details such as a waterdrop notch with curved edges. The user showed specifications, however, since the phone’s language is Chinese, we aren’t sure what it deciphers. But hold on because we have a plenty of details on the upcoming Mi Play.

The Xiaomi Mi Play featured a 5.84-inch FHD+ curved glass boasting a screen resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. The phone is a rebranded version of Redmi Note 7 Pro but has been booted to support intensive gaming and heavy apps making it the first smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer to roll out a gaming-focused smartphone similar to Honor Play and Asus ROG.

As previously known, Xiaomi Mi Play features an octa-core processor but after the launch, we know that it has a 12nm MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor at 2.3 GHz frequency with a single 4GB/64GB configuration which opposes to the previously reported variants. Further, the phone offers a 12MP main and 8MP secondary rear dual-camera setup while the front camera assembly features an 8MP AI-enabled sensor taking detailed and impressive images and videos.

The smartphone features a sturdy metal unibody disguised as a sandwiched front and back glass with a fingerprint scanner at the back arranged with a vertically aligned dual-camera setup resembling iPhone X without a flash between the camera.

Finally, the battery has been a subtle 3,000 mAh capacity while an equivalent Honor Play boasts a 3,750 mAh which is almost 25% more than Mi Play. Xiaomi Mi Play 4GB/64GB is available at a price tag of just 1099 yuan which loosely translates to little over Rs 11,000/- which is by far almost half the price of an Honor Play that makes it a good deal to grab.
