Xiaomi Redmi lineup is a popular budget-friendly series out there. After the success of the Redmi 9 series, the Chinese smartphone maker has launched a brand new Xiaomi Redmi 10. At present, there’s only one device in the series and it includes major upgrades as well.
One of the major upgrades the Redmi 10 brings on board is the 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a whopping 90Hz refresh rate. It is the first time a Redmi smartphone is using a high refresh rate. The device can handle three modes i.e. 45Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz.
Next up, Redmi 10 is treated with the latest chipset from MediaTek dubbed as Helio G88 which gives much-needed upgrades over Helio G85 in terms of HRR at FHD resolution among other perks.
Moving on, the device which hosts a Mi 10-like camera setup sports a massive 50MP primary snapper. It is in fact, the largest resolution a sensor has got in the Redmi series. The primary cam is flanked with the usual setup aka 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. Redmi 10 houses an 8MP selfie camera housed in a rather large punch-hole cut-out.
The latest smartphone in the Redmi series and a successor to last year’s Redmi 9, the Redmi 10 brings on-board a 5,000 mAh battery paired alongside 18W wired and 9W reverse charging. Unlike many other players in the industry, Xiaomi is shipping a 22.5W charge in the retail box.
Other perks that you will get with Redmi 10 are the 3.5mm headphone jack on top, a dual speakers setup, a face unlock, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner mechanism. The device says goodbye to the microSD card slot. Xiaomi Redmi 10 runs on the latest patch of MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.
Xiaomi Redmi 10 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage is available at $180 and its Malaysian price as per a report is around MYR650. A mid 4GB+128GB variant goes on sale at $200. Finally, the topmost variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage goes on sale at $220 and its Malaysian price is at MYR750. The Redmi 10 is slated to go on sale starting August 20. Color options available with the Redmi 10 are Sea Blue, Pebble White, and Carbon Gray.
