After numerous leaks, press renders and photos, Xiaomi has officially launched its next-gen budget phablet at an event in the home country. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is the successor of the previously launched Mi Max 2 which was launched back in July 2017.

Some of the key highlights of the device are its 5,500mAh battery, FullVision display, and affordable price tag. The smartphone maker did not go with the notch trend instead reduced the top and bottom bezels making it look premium somewhat. The device borrows some specifications from Redmi Note 5 while adding more to create a mind-numbing user experience.

It has a front glass and aluminum body with Corning Gorilla Glass of unspecified version. Xiaomi has added its MIUI 9.5 along with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system where it will soon receive MIUI 10 update and even MIUI 11 later in few months.

Talking about the internal specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has an Octa-core Kryo 260 CPU at 1.8 GHz along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and an Adreno 509 GPU. Xiaomi released two variants of this phablet i.e. 64GB with 4GB RAM and 128GB with 6GB RAM where the internal memory can be further expanded to 256GB using the second SIM slot.

Unlike its predecessor, the Mi Max 3 sports a vertically placed dual-camera setup of 12mp (f/1.9, dual pixel PDAF, 1.4μm plus 5mp with depth sensor and LED flash. It is capable of shooting impressive 2160p@30fps along with its gyro-EIS feature for greater stability and stunning videos. The front snapper is an 8 MP with f/2.0 with a 1.12μm sensor which is a boost to the previously used 5MP and f/2.0 secondary camera in Mi Max 2. The phablet has a fingerprint reader centrally placed at the rear that looks and works pretty fine.

It has a USB-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual VoLTE, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac under its connectivity features.
