There have been some leaks about the alleged Redmi Note 5 for quite some time now. One of the recent leaks came from the Chinese 3C certification website wherein we took a look at the two variants of the phone which are expected to launch soon.
A new leak refers to this device which seemingly sports an 18:9 aspect ratio display with thin bezels, in short, its following the trend. The leak also shows us that the device will hold a dual rear camera setup with a fingerprint scanner just below it, a typical Redmi style.
Other leaks show us a device, which may or may not be the Redmi Note 5, but it sports a vertically placed dual rear cameras. According to MyDrivers, the 3C report showcased the Xiaomi MEE7S and MET7S on the site.
The recent leak was brought to light by TargetYoutube and they claim that the device will be launched by the end of March 2018 and it is expected to go on sale for CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs. 15,200). There have been no leaks about what specs the device holds but going by some rumours we earlier heard, the Redmi Note 5 will sport a 5.9-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 display. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage.
As far as the cameras are concerned the Redmi Note 5 will most likely sport a 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear cameras along with an 8-megapixel front camera. According to some reports, the device is expected to come with Android 8.0 Oreo with the MIUI 9 skin on top of it. The Redmi Note 5 is expected to house a 4100mAh battery, which is most likely to support fast charging.
Also, some leaks suggest that the device may also have face unlock. Although, these new rumours haven’t been confirmed yet and there has been no announcement from Xiaomi itself as of now and hence these rumours are to be taken with a pinch of salt. We will get to know more about the device in the following days till then sit tight and stay tuned.
