Xiaomi launched both Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India a few weeks ago. It’s Note 9 Pro went for its maiden sale and in fact, it saw an influx of buyers thereby selling out in a few seconds. The company has planned to go for its second sale on March 24. However, the launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max that was earlier scheduled on March 25 has been delayed indefinitely in India after the lockdown went into effect at midnight on March 24.

Xiaomi confirmed the sale via a tweet from its official handle on Twitter (@RedmiIndia) where it stated that the Chinese smartphone maker had to forgo the scheduled first sale of the phone to a later date although it didn’t mention the exact date. The sale has been delayed indefinitely and I guess the sale won’t be held until the nation is locked down till March 31st due to the Coronavirus outbreak that has already surpassed the 500th-mark in India at the time of writing this.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max brings a 6.67-inch IPS LCD FHD+ panel on-board and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor paired alongside Adreno 618 GPU. The device also has a quad-camera setup with 64MP (Note 9 Pro has 48MP) main sensor along with 8MP ultrawide, 5MP macro and 2MP depth sensor on-board. It also has a 32MP front-facing camera which is again twice of what its sibling offers. The phone will arrive with Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box as its sibling.

Under the hood, the phone has a 5,020 mAh battery on-board paired along with 33W fast charging which is almost double than what Redmi Note 9 Pro (18W) brings to the table. Finally, the phone is available in Interstellar Black, Glacier White, and Aurora Blue and will be available in India likely at Rs 14,999/- for its base variant 6+64GB while its 6+128GB will probably go on sale at Rs 16,999/- and 8+128GB will carry a price tag of Rs 18,999/-.
