After launching Redmi Note 9 Pro in India with its first sale ending in mere minutes, the Chinese OEM Xiaomi has released its international version elsewhere touted as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S.

The phone is available for pre-order on Gearbest at $210 for its 4+64GB variant while the higher end 6+128GB variant will fetch $250 as its price tag. In fact, Gearbest is also offering a special offer wherein a deposit of $10 will multiple four times giving you a net value of $40 effectively bringing down the price of the smartphones at $170 and $210 respectively. Redmi Note 9S is available for pre-order and it is expected to start shipping between March 31 and April 2 although the exact date of arrival at your doorstep is unavailable at this moment.

Talking about the specs, the phone has the same specs as its Indian counterpart. To elaborate, it has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD HD+ display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top for protection. The phone is advertised to produce 450 nits of typical brightness. Furthermore, the phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G octa-core processor paired alongside Adreno 618 GPU, 4/6GB of RAM and 64/128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage.

With Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box, the device also has a quad-camera setup as many of the smartphones now. It includes 48+8+5+2MP sensors while the front housed in a centrally placed punch-hole is a 16MP shooter. The device has one of the best-designed camera setups according to me. The phone takes its fingerprint scanner to the side which is another trait that many budget phones are adopting.

Xiaomi will start selling the phone starting April 7 in Interstellar Grey, Aurora Blue, and Glacier White color variants. There is an MFF 2020 Limited Edition of the phone available as well although there are only 2020 units so if you want to try your hands on the special edition, you better hurry.

About the pricing, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S is available in Malaysia at MYR799 ($170) and MYR899 ($202 )for 4/64GB and 6/128GB variants respectively. In Thailand, the phone is available at THB 6,499 ($198) and THB 7,999 ($244) respectively while Xiaomi’s official partner AliExpress is offering it at $249 and $279 worldwide. To put things into context, the phone is available in India (as Redmi Note 9 Pro) at Rs 12,999/- ($170) and Rs 15,999/- ($210) respectively.
