Apple recently took the world by storm after it unveiled new iPhones this year on September 12 where a number of products were expected to be unraveled, however, Apple choose to skip other products for launch sometime later. This means that Apple could announce other products in the lineup such as the most-anticipated iPad Pro (2018) and iPad (2018). Thanks to the number of leaks, we have acquired a considerable amount of details about the new upcoming iPad along with the latest tip on its speculated model number.
As per an article posted on My Smart Price, the upcoming iPad 2018 appeared on MIIT bearing model numbers A1876, A1980, and A1993. Also, a Bluetooth Device listing that we came across recently suggests model number A2051 which is speculated to be of iPad Pro 2018. We wouldn’t comment more about it since the listing hasn’t called out the actual product name.
Again, we know that iPad Pro 2018 lineup will be available in two different sizes and there will be two different models each that is one of Wi-Fi and another with LTE. According to 9to5mac, the iPad Pro 2018 with Wi-Fi models are summoned as iPad8.1; iPad 8,2; iPad 8,5; and iPad 8,6 while the cellular LTE enabled models will be called iPad 8,3; iPad 8,4, iPad 8,7, and iPad 8,8.
We also know that the upcoming iPads will get an A12X processor which is faster than A12 Bionic chipset that Apple rolled out with this year’s iPhone models. Moreover, the A12X processor will get an add-on with A12X GPU which is again, faster than the previous GPU used in this year’s iPhone models.
It is not a secret that Apple has been trying to squash all its devices to look like iPhone X (iPhone XS/XS Max, for instance). So, the new iPad Pro will get an edge-to-edge display with reduced bezel and no home button. It will have FaceID facial recognition system with Apple’s TrueDepth camera that one could find with this year’s iPhone models that will work both in straight and upside down position so it doesn’t matter if you are holding your iPad Pro in portrait or landscape mode, it will unlock intuitively.
Other features that were tipped recently are the magnetic connector that will be mounted on the back of the iPad that would allow it connect with accessories like Smart Keyboard using its new type of connector.
