OPPO is preparing to launch its new F31 series in India on September 15, 2025. The lineup includes three smartphones, the OPPO F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+ 5G. Ahead of the official release, the company has shared key details about the phones’ performance, thermal design, battery capabilities, and camera systems.

OPPO F31 series specifications

Performance and thermal design

The OPPO F31 Pro+ will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, a 4nm chipset with an octa-core Kryo CPU and Adreno 720 GPU. The phone will support up to 24 GB of RAM (12 GB physical + 12 GB virtual) and UFS 3.1 storage. To manage heat, the device includes a 5,219 mm² vapor chamber, which is 856 mm² larger than the previous model, improving thermal dissipation.

The F31 Pro will use the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy, another 4nm chipset, with a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. It also offers up to 24 GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone’s 4,363 mm² vapor chamber and larger graphite layers help reduce heat during extended use.

The base OPPO F31 comes equipped with the 6nm Dimensity 6300 SoC and features a 4,300 mm² vapor chamber. According to OPPO, this design improves thermal efficiency by 21% compared to the previous generation.

All three phones use larger vapor chambers, graphite sheets, and adaptive heat management to improve performance in warmer conditions by raising the thermal throttling limit to 44–45°C. This means the devices can operate at a higher temperature before their performance is reduced to prevent overheating.

Software and AI tools

The F31 Series runs on ColorOS 15, which includes OPPO’s Dual-Engine Smoothness System. The system features a Trinity Engine that improves CPU efficiency and a Luminous Rendering Engine that provides smoother animations and transitions between apps.

The lineup is backed by 72-Month Fluency Protection 2.0, aimed at maintaining performance over six years through storage defragmentation, pre-loading, and intelligent system tuning.

AI tools are also a major highlight:

  • AI VoiceScribe offers real-time transcription, translation, and summaries in over 29 languages, including Hindi, English, and Kannada.
  • AI Call Assistant, powered by Google’s Gemini model, translates both sides of a call live.
  • OPPO Docs and the AI Notes Assistant enhance productivity with summarization, translation, rewriting, and text correction features.

Battery and charging

Each smartphone in the series is equipped with a 7,000 mAh battery. With 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, OPPO claims the devices can charge to 58% in 30 minutes and be fully recharged in a little over an hour. The phones also support wired reverse charging and bypass charging, which directs power to the system during gaming to reduce heat and extend battery life.

Camera systems

The OPPO F31 Pro+ will feature a 32MP front camera and a dual rear camera system, with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP monochrome lens. The 50MP main camera also has two-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). The F31 Pro will have a similar camera setup but with the addition of optical zoom. The base F31 model will have a 50MP main camera, two 2MP portrait sensors, and a 16MP selfie camera.

The series supports 4K video recording at 30 fps and 4K underwater photography, enabled by IP-rated water resistance. The devices are certified IP69, IP68, and IP66 for dust and water protection.

Durability and certifications

All three models feature a 360° Armour Body for multi-layer shock absorption. They also have a SGS A+ High-Temperature Fluency Certification, which guarantees stable frame rates and smooth performance even when under heavy workloads.

Availability

The OPPO F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+ 5G will be launched in India on September 15, 2025. The smartphones will be available for purchase through Amazon.in, Flipkart, and offline retail stores. Pricing and specific storage options will be announced at the official launch event.
