OnePlus is soon celebrating its 12th anniversary with a bang. The Chinese maker recently confirmed the existence of the OnePlus Turbo, launching to commemorate the auspicious event, thereby providing tech enthusiasts with an unprecedented gaming experience.
OnePlus Turbo series officially teased!
Yes, you heard that right. OnePlus China’s president, Li Jie, took it to Weibo, announcing the upcoming Turbo range. The devices are said to inherit powerful performance genes borrowed by OnePlus’ flagship phones and the strongest battery life in their class. All this will give us the OnePlus Turbo, the next-gen, powerful gaming-oriented devices.
Li further added how OnePlus China reported a YoY sales growth of 40% in 2024 compared to the previous year. This calls for a special lineup, and that’s where the Turbo series comes into play, a perfect specimen of what OnePlus phones can do.
For the unversed, it is not a surprise that the OnePlus Turbo is incoming. In fact, we have been tracking the phone over the months as the OnePlus Ace 6 Turbo, OnePlus Nord 6, or any other name that the phone would pick up. It’s interesting to show how OnePlus officially confirmed the existence of an upcoming series, and we can’t be more excited.
Leaked specifications point to a gaming-focused phone
Talking about leaked specs, we do know that the first-ever OnePlus Turbo packs in a 6.7” 1.5K OLED panel boasting a refresh rate of 165Hz. There’s a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC under the hood, which runs just a tad behind the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
There’s a massive 8,000mAh battery plus 100W wired charging tech. This is one of the largest batteries on board, given the phone is a gaming beast, and a larger battery = longer and sustained performance. This is around the same lines as the Honor WIN series slated to arrive later this month.
Talking about the launch of the OnePlus Turbo gaming phone, we aren’t aware of the timelines just yet. The Ace 6 Turbo is speculated to arrive in January or February next year in China, while a rebranded Nord 6 will arrive in India (and other markets) sometime in July. The tipped OnePlus Turbo could be either or neither of them, which means the launch date is still a mystery.
