Just a while ago, OnePlus officially confirmed on social media that the OnePlus 5 will be announced on June 20th, 2017, through a live stream online. However, ahead of the launch we already have a look at what the OnePlus 5 may actually look like. And judging by the renders, it appears to be an undisguised facsimile of the iPhone 7 Plus. Seriously, what could be more akin to the iPhone 7 Plus design than this?
By replicating an already successful design, maybe the Chinese manufacturer avoids several risks involved with coming up with a radically new design and yet manages to prevail a robust and eye-candy design, like the iPhone 7 Plus’, with the OnePlus 5 – the same stealthy look from the Matte Black iPhone 7 Plus. The first image you see above comes from Android Police, who received the photo from an anonymous source. Just like we received a few camera samples from an unknown source.
Soon after that, SlashLeaks got a render therapy from one of their leaker members, who published a full render of the OnePlus 5. The full photo highlights the dual cameras, along with the iPhone 7 Plus-like big camera bump. (Phew, this article has too much of the iPhone 7 Plus in it.)
Leaks are leaks, and with this one, we also see a dark black shade of the OnePlus 5. However, for the final confirmation, we will have to wait for the official announcement on June 20th.
