Highlights
  • WhatsApp is working on a feature to schedule messages soon.
  • The feature works in many ways than you can comprehend since it gives the opportunity to schedule messages at any given time or date.
  • However, the feature is under development and there's no concrete dates available for its rollout across iOS and Android clients.

It looks like WhatsApp is working on one of the most-awaited features of the millennium—the ability to schedule WhatsApp messages, and that’s for both individual and group chats. The feature was unearthed by the folks at WABetaInfo, whereby a beta version bearing v26.7.10.72 appears to show the feature as ‘under development.’

You could get the ability to schedule WhatsApp messages soon

According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp beta v26.7.10.72 for iOS is working on a feature to schedule messages in chats. This is for both individual and group chats. Aptly named “Scheduled Messages,” the feature will allow users to automatically send messages set well in advance. For instance, now I can finally send birthday wishes to a friend exactly at 00.00 a few days later, and it will be delivered automatically.

I have been waiting for the feature to schedule WhatsApp messages for ages. I mean, it has been ages since I wanted a feature that can finally reduce my procrastination to text someone at a specific time. Think about a text to your boss at 10 AM in the morning, when you know you might not be able to text at that time; a scheduling feature works amazingly. The feature is as seen on WhatsApp for iOS in a group chat, although there’s no doubt why WhatsApp wouldn’t allow the same feature to populate on individual chats as well.

For now, the feature to schedule WhatsApp messages is under development, which highlights that it isn’t available to the beta users as well. It remains elusive if WhatsApp will release the feature across iOS and Android clients and when. However, I don’t understand why WhatsApp wouldn’t want to make users’ lives easy by bringing such an innovative feature on board.
