As the OnePlus 16 launch is nearing, there’s a lot of chatter doing the rounds. A new leak coming from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests the OnePlus 16 could arrive in October, rather than September. In fact, there’s also news around its key specs and design that you shouldn’t miss.
OnePlus 16 launch timeline tipped for October 2026
According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), OnePlus 16 could arrive in October 2026. Although the last-gen OnePlus 15 arrived during the same month, we have been hearing about a preponed launch for this year’s flagship, i.e., September. In fact, DCS also corroborated the same story. Cut to now, it is being said that the OnePlus 16 is likely to debut in October 2026, although the timeline may differ a bit.
OnePlus 16 design seems similar to last year’s flagship
In an exclusive report, DCS hints that the OnePlus 16 design looks a lot similar to the OnePlus 15. Apparently, the Chinese smartphone maker is not looking for a major overhaul in terms of design; however, it is looking to keep the design language intact. It means we will see ultra-narrow symmetrical bezels on board its LIPO OLED panel measuring 6.78” in size.
The camera deco that we saw in OP15, i.e., a compact squaricle-shaped rear camera assembly, will make up for it on the OP16 as well. In fact, there’s a lot of buzz around OnePlus bringing a ginormous 200MP shooter on board, although the specs remain elusive. Do note that even though OnePlus may not change the design on the upcoming flagship, we could still see hardware upgrades in the camera department for sure.
Moving further, we will get a Snapdragon 8 Elite 6 Pro SoC on board, which will be the flagship chipset once it arrives at the Snapdragon Summit 2026. There’s also buzz around a massive 9,000mAh battery on-board using Glacier technology that should bring more density in a smaller form factor w.r.t. the battery on-board OnePlus 16.
