- OnePlus 16 is tipped to bring a massive 200MP triple rear camera on-board.
- This was featured by tipster DCS according to whom, OnePlus 16 could bring a better camera specs than OP13 and OP15.
- OnePlus 16 is set to launch in October 2026 with an insanely powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC.
It seems we got our hands on the final OnePlus 16 camera specs thanks to a popular tipster, Digital Chat Station. This comes more than a month before its launch in October and, of course, complements multiple reports from other sources, setting up the stage for the big reveal.
OnePlus 16 camera specs tipped
According to Digital Chat Station (DCS), a well-known tipster hailing from Chinese microblogging site Weibo, the upcoming OnePlus 16 is likely to bring on board a massive 200MP primary sensor with a size of 1/1.4”. This is where the stark differences between OP16 and OP15 (the 2025 flagship) are apparent, given the latter uses a 50MP primary 1/1.56” sensor. Earlier reports did mention two 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5s making it to OP16 as well, although let’s take this with a pinch of salt.
Moving forward, the phone will bring a 50MP periscope telephoto cam with a sensor size of 1/1.95” and a 3x optical zoom. For contrast, the OnePlus 15 has a similar 50MP periscope telephoto cam but with a smaller 1/2.76” sensor.
Finally, we have a third 50MP ultrawide camera on-board, although DCS has shied away from sharing any specs for this sensor. For context, the OnePlus 15 had a 50MP ultrawide snapper too with a 116-degree FoV and a sensor size of 1/2.88”, so I am assuming OP16 will bring a larger sensor to keep up with the trend. Finally, we have a 50MP front-facing cam as well with autofocus.
Overall, this will transcend the OnePlus 16 with decent photography firepower. It may not be too great compared to the OnePlus 13 or the OnePlus 15, but we are expecting it to be at least the same in performance, to say the least.
OnePlus 16 overall specs at a glance
The OnePlus 16 is dropping in early October, and we are more than excited. The phone is tipped to bring a flat BOE X5 OLED display with 1220p resolution and a refresh rate that could go as high as 240Hz, although recent stories peg it around 165Hz. The phone is likely to use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC with a max frequency of 6GHz, UFS 4.1 storage, and LPDDR6 RAM, with max configurations of 16 GB + 1 TB.
Apart from the display, we have a massive 9,000mAh battery pack using OnePlus’ Glacier technology. This will be pegged with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging on board.
