The Micromax Bharat Go will be running the Android Oreo Go Edition, which is the trimmed down version of Android Oreo with lighter apps and is suitable for phones having 1GB RAM or less. Google announced the project back in May last year and was made available for roll out at the Google for India event in December.

Phones running Android Oreo Go Edition will run the stock Android Oreo with core apps like Google Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, YouTube Go, Google Assistant Go, and Files Go on board, along with data saver and Googles compression tech. Chipset makers like Qualcomm and MediaTek have also announced that they are optimizing their chipsets for Android Oreo Go Edition, so it will be interesting to see which chipset maker will power the Micromax Bharat Go.

As of now, Micromax didn’t say anything regarding the pricing. But in a statement, the company said, “Taking its mission of connecting the unconnected ahead, and providing the best in class mobility devices, Micromax will introduce BHARAT GO to deliver optimized Android experience as an entry level smartphone to millions of Indian consumers.”
