There have long been rumours that Apple is developing the iPad Pro devices with OLED displays. Production of the OLED panels for the next iPad Pros is reportedly in progress, according to a recent rumour from South Korea. Here are all the information about the OLED displays that Samsung Display and LG Display are anticipated to produce.
Samsung Display begins production of the iPad Pro’s OLED panel this week.
TheElec reported the news. In our earlier research, we discussed how LG Display was slated to begin OLED iPad Pro display production in February 2024. However, according to the most recent Korean report, LG is already manufacturing OLED panels for the next-generation Apple iPad Pro. It is apparently producing 13-inch displays (12.9-inch according to prior rumours), with 11-inch OLED panels perhaps joining the production line soon.
For those who are not conscious, the Cupertino-based company is developing two new iPad Air and two new OLED iPad Pro models for release in the second quarter of this year. LG is not the only supplier of OLED panels for these iPad Pros; Samsung Display is anticipated to begin OLED production later this week. According to the new source, LG Display will focus on 13-inch OLED panels, and Samsung Display would largely produce 11-inch variations.
Unfortunately, further specific information on these iPads, such as pricing, remains unknown. However, based on what we know so far, the next iPad Pros will most likely be equipped with the Apple M3 processor. This could result in a minor increase in price over the predecessor. There may also be new accessories available, such as a new generation of Magic Keyboard and Pencil. This is all the information we have at the time, so stay tuned for future updates.
