Apple has recently announced a new Mac mini integrated with new M4 and M4 Pro chips. It claims to deliver solid performance in the most sleek and compact form factor yet. The brand-new Apple Mac mini is built to unlock full power from Apple Silicon, and promises up to 1.8x faster CPU and 2.2x faster GPU compared with the previous M1 model.
Apple Mac mini debuts with M4 and M4 Pro
The M4 chip introduces 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU combined with 16GB unified memory to enable users to handle productivity apps, creative projects, and multitasking at impressive speeds.
On the other hand, the M4 Pro chip offers 14 cores, up to 64GB memory, and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity that allows data transfer rates up to 120 GB/s. For content creators, the M4 Pro is going to boost efficiency at work on high performance tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering, and AI processing.
When benchmarked, the Mac mini with M4 Pro performed scene-edit detection in Adobe Premiere Pro up to 9.4x faster than the Intel Core i7 model. Apple has developed a new thermal architecture that allows this small desktop to handle heavy loads without compromising performance.
Apple Intelligence: The next-gen AI experience
With Apple Intelligence, the Mac mini is a new addition that offers its users the most personalized experience. The users can access their writing support, language translation, and enhanced Siri, and all of this works with Apple’s privacy framework.
Moreover, powerful on-device processing helps users rely on AI-driven features to make work-life and creativity easier-from generating original images with Image Playground to designing custom Genmoji.
However, Apple will start integrating ChatGPT with Siri in December. It allows consumers to gain access to this high-powered AI without fuss, making the Mac mini an innovator in the space of AI-driven desktops.
Design and carbon-neutral build
The Mac mini has a 5-by-5 footprint, and it occupies much less of the available desk space compared to the traditional desktops. Given that it is the first carbon-neutral computer by Apple, it is also very important that more than half of the components used consist of recycled materials. Apple used low-carbon shipping methods in manufacturing this computer, and thus resulted in a sharp reduction of emissions.

Apple has also included front USB-C ports and high-impedance headphone support on the Mac mini. Additionally, the back of the M4 version of the Mac mini has Thunderbolt 4, while the M4 Pro comes with Thunderbolt 5. Thus, it allows seamless connections to up to three 6K monitors, a 5K display, or a high-resolution display.
Pricing and availability
The redesigned Mac mini is now available for pre-order, starting at INR 59,900 for the M4 model and INR 149,900 for the M4 Pro. Official availability will begin November 8. The new models also come with various educational discounts, offering even more affordability for students and educators.
