If you have been waiting for a newly designed Mac mini, you might have to wait for even longer. This is because according to a reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is likely to use the same design for its Mac mini for its next generation.

Ming-Chi Kuo’s reputation precedes which is the reason why a single tweet does have the gravitas to it. The tweet reads that the next-gen Apple Mac mini is likely to use the same form factor which includes the same aluminum unibody design that the Cupertino-based giant has been using since 2010. Kuo further mentioned that the release date for the next-gen Mac mini is sometime in 2023 which goes against the speculated release this year i.e. 2022.

As said, Kuo’s tweet goes against what other leakers have mentioned earlier. This includes Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech who mentioned that the next-gen mini will get a smaller chassis along with metal bands and a plexiglass-like top.

Mac mini recently received an upgrade in the form of an Apple M1 processor on the entry-level model and the higher-end Mac mini sticks with an Intel processor from 2018 so far. It seems like Apple is likely to refresh both higher and entry-level Mac mini concurrently. It will still pick up the same aluminum enclosure as that of previous iterations.

Apple recently announced a series of products at the Peak Performance 2022 launch event including the almighty Mac Studio powered by an uber-powerful M1 Ultra processor. Other speculations around Mac mini are with the plans that Apple could release two new models i.e. the next-generation of Mac mini with M2 and M2 Pro chipsets for entry-level and higher-end models respectively.
