After two massive events, Apple is gearing up for it’s yet another and probably the last event of 2020 i.e. One More Thing and the invites have already gone through. The event is scheduled for November 10th at 10:30 AM PT or 12:00 AM IST. Although the Cupertino-based giant has kept mum on what we will get to see at the event, there are already tonnes of reports hinting at the ARM-based Macs that Apple confirmed back at WWDC 2019.
Apple has been using Intel processors since 2005. Last year, it announced that the company will be shifting its focus on ARM-based Macs in 2020 and we will certainly get Apple Silicon integrated on the upcoming Macs presumed to arrive at the One More Thing event.
For those who might be unaware, the phrase “One More Thing” holds a lot of credibility to it as it was majorly used by Apple’s former CEO Steve Jobs. It implies significant product announcements and we are positive that this upcoming One More Thing event ain’t any different.
According to GSMArena, reports have started floating that we can expect a 13-inch MacBook Air, a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and a 13-inch MacBook Pro that will be launched with Apple Silicon. Apple is shifting to ARM-based chipsets called Apple Silicon, which is based on Apple’s A-series of chipsets used in iPhones. It will likely increase performance and bring down power consumption to a great degree. Apple did mention that they are switching since ARM chipsets are better in performance than Intel processors.
Apart from that, Apple is planning to integrate ARM-based chipsets on its entire lineup of laptops and desktops down the line although it would take a few years or so to materialize. Reports suggest that Apple could launch the macOS 11 Big Sur at the event as it has been in beta for months now but that remains to be seen.
