Let’s check out more details about the hyper-immersive Vision Pro and the powerhouse of software aka the visionOS 2.
Apple Vision Pro availability in new countries
At the WWDC 2024 today, Apple officially announced Apple Vision Pro’s availability in new countries. It includes Singapore, Japan, mainland China, and Hong Kong with pre-orders beginning on June 13 at 6 pm PT and the availability is from June 28.
Moving to the other side of the globe, Vision Pro will be available across the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, and Australia starting June 28 (pre-orders) at 5 am PT with the availability on July 12.
Introducing visionOS 2 – the next big frontier
It is the largest software update on Vision Pro headsets. It brings machine learning to the Photos app allowing users to create spatial photos using their existing 2D images. Another feature includes an updated Mac virtual display feature using which, you can get two 4K displays right in front of you in an ultrawide display option.
Apple is also adding SharePlay to the Photos app which would make it easier to share photos with other Vision Pro users using Spatial Personas. Remember how the feature was rolled out in April showing a ghostlike bust representation of your friends as if they are in the same room as you. Enjoy seamless Personas for work, watch videos or movies together, and more. VisionOS has also added a new tap gesture onboard that takes you straight to the control center.
vision OS 2 will be available to preview on Vision Pro devices later in fall, if you are interested check it out here.
The Cupertino-based giant further announced a partnership with Canon working on new spatial lenses for its EOS E7 DSLR cameras that would be able to shoot content, especially for the Vision Pro. That’s not all. The Spatial Videos for your Vision Pro can be edited on Final Cut Pro for visionOS followed by uploads on the Vimeo App with a dedicated 180° 8K video format in collaboration with Blackmagic Design including cameras such as Apple Compressor and DaVinci Resolve.
