We have noted that the iPhone 13 series was launched recently and that the devices have been received quite well in the market. People who were using the iPhone X and iPhone 11 have upgraded to this new iPhone 13 series.

However, we have kept saying that Apple plans to launch an all-new iPhone next year which will have a major redesign as well as new features. This will be the iPhone 14 series and it is said to have a punch-hole display as well.

But we know that in the world of Apple leaks, nothing is too much as we have leaks of the iPhone 15 series as well. Yes, the 2023 iPhone 15 series leaks have already started and Kuo also said that the 2023 iPhone will have a Periscope lens.

Now, a new report from the iPhone blogdoiphone claims that the 2023 iPhone 15 Pro will be the first to feature no physical SIM card slot. We have heard reports that Apple plans to go portless on their iPhones in the near future. And this seems to be one of the major steps for the iPhone’s removal of ports.

Instead of a physical SIM card slot, Apple will only support eSIM on the device and we already know that the iPhone 13 series has compatibility with two eSIM as well as a physical SIM. Next year, we might see the company continue with the same philosophy while the iPhone 15 Pro, as per reports, will remove physical SIM slots.

One thing to note is that Apple is also working on wireless charging for their phones for a long time and this is also in line with removing the charging port from their devices. It is likely that the iPhone 15 will have a 3nm architecture chip while the iPhone 14 will have a chip based on 4nm architecture.

We expect to see under-display Touch ID as well as punch-hole display on the iPhone 14 Pro series which might be introduced across the lineup for the iPhone 15 series.

One major benefit that we already see of Apple removing the iPhone 15’s physical SIM card slot is the elimination of SIM swapping frauds happening all over the world. However, users will also face inconvenience while the tech matures so it is a double-edged sword.
