After several ‘thousand’ users complaint about the issue, tech websites began to flood with articles on alleged ‘ChargeGate’ problem that iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max exhibited just a few days after the iPhones were available for shipping. Well, turns out that the problem was indeed caused by a bug in iOS 12 that was officially launched on September 17. The bug prevented the iPhones from charging the phone immediately after connecting the lightning cable and the problem was even worse when the phone was idle or screen off since the phone will never detect that the user plugged a lightning cable and thus, no charging the phone whatsoever and yes, Apple was mum on the matter.
Apple has finally addressed the problem and released iOS 12.0.1 version for all the users who had reported the issue thereby fixing a variety of bugs and problems that were reported by either the users or developers or testers after the iOS 12 went live on September 17 and yes, it has been summoned as the most popular iOS version overtaking iOS 11 in just three weeks.
About the update, it is a 100MB update which has several bug fixes mentioned in the catalog. The first problem is that Apple has fixed the issue where iPhone XS devices couldn’t detect lightning cable and charge immediately until the phone is woken up. Next bug fixe is for the Wi-Fi which could apparently swap to 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz. Apple has also resolved issues with Bluetooth being unavailable at certain instances along with fixing the subtitles for video apps since users have reported that some of the videos didn’t have subtitles.
The last of the catalog is the position of “.?123” keys on iPad keyboard which could possibly change its position but with the iOS 12.0.1, the problem is under control now.
