We have been speculating how Apple is going to announce its new products during this pandemic and how the company is going to manage the production delays that have been caused for its iPhones. We do know so far that the company is going to delay the launch of iPhone 12 series this year. But hopes of a September launch event were ignited thanks to Jon Prosser and his report from last week. Prosser was extremely confident in claiming that Apple will send out a “press release” in which it will announce the new iPad as well as Apple Watch Series 6.
However, we can report that Prosser’s report has failed because Apple did not send out a press release for a product launch but it did release the date for its next event which will be “September 15”.
Yes, we are going to have a virtual Apple event next Tuesday and this will be the event where Apple announces their next iPad, iPad Air as well as the Apple Watch Series 6. Prosser believed that these products did not have massive changes to have their own event but Apple thinks otherwise.
Also, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now believes that Apple will hold three events in the next three months starting with the September 15 event. This month, the company will announce its iPad and Watch while the next month will be all about the iPhone 12 series.
In November, Apple will announce their latest updates to the Mac lineup which is expected to be the biggest event of them all. The reason being that we will be seeing the first Apple Silicon-based Mac device being announced. On top of that, we also expect the redesign for iMac to be unveiled and new 14-inch Macbook Pro to be launched.
As for the September 15 event, iPad Air 4, Watch Series 6 as well as the entry-level iPad 2020 will be showcased with the availability of these products expected by the end of this month.
There is a possibility that iPad Air 4 will get a design similar to iPad Pro with reduced bezels and LiDAR scanner at the back as well as 120Hz promotion display. But for official confirmation, we will have to wait for Apple’s September 15 launch event starting at 10 a.m. pacific daylight time from Apple Park.
