Apple just introduced AppleCare One, a one-of-a-kind device protection plan from Apple that covers more than one device on a single plan. Starting at $19.99 per month, customers can protect up to three Apple devices — regardless of their type — on a single plan, with a top-up of $5.99 per month for each additional device.

Unlike AppleCare, which would protect your Apple iPhone or iPad or other devices, per plan per device, AppleCare One offers you the avenue to secure up to three devices on a single plan at $19.99/month. Got more devices to cover? Don’t worry, as Apple will allow you to club in more devices under its AppleCare One plan for $5.99/month/device.
Talking about what it covers, I would say a lot. AppleCare One protects your device against spills and drop accidents, 24/7 priority support with Apple experts, theft, and loss protection for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch (earlier it would cover only iPhone). There’s also convenient Apple-certified service and battery coverage with the plan as well.
There’s a certain eligibility criterion, though. For AppleCare One, you can secure up to four devices in a standard $19.99/m rental. It secures devices that are up to four years old and must be in good condition. It secures headphones less than a year old, and these too must be in good condition to be eligible.
The plan rolls out on Thursday (July 24) across the US, with more countries joining soon. You can avail it right from your iPad, iPhone, Mac, or walk into the nearest Apple Store to reap the benefits. The best thing about AppleCare One is the fact that it relieves you from the 60-day period that the Cupertino-based giant had imposed to cover devices under AppleCare.
With the purchase, you are estimated to save $11 per month on securing three devices — iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, had you secured them individually.
It remains to be seen whether and when the new protection plan rolls out across the US shores.
