Just yesterday we saw a new poster coming from Asus where it teased its upcoming gaming phone in the ROG Phone series. Just a day after the poster went live on Weibo, a new gaming phone has been spotted on 3C certification. Probably Asus ROG Phone 4, the 3C certification gives out information related to its battery capacity while there are some inputs from a popular leakster as well.
According to the 3C listing, a new Asus smartphone with model number ASUS_I005DA has been spotted on the website. To put things into context, last year’s ASUS ROG Phone 3 had a model number ASUS_I003D. Now the upcoming smartphone could be summoned as ROG Phone 4 or ROG Phone 5 where the likelihood of the latter staying as the moniker is higher. This is because Taiwanese people believe 4 is an unlucky number while Chinese people consider 4 is a number of deaths.
Moving further, the 3C listing mentions that the upcoming ROG Phone will arrive with a 65W fast charging tech. To put things forth, even leakster Digital Chat Sation mentioned that the upcoming ROG Phone 4 will likely carry a 60W or 65W fast charging tech. Moreover, DCS further added that the upcoming ROG gaming phone will pack in a hefty 6,000 mAh battery which puts it as a powerhouse when compared to Xiaomi Black Shark 4’s 4,500 mAh band Nubia Red Magic 6 4,500 mAh battery both carrying a 120W charging tech support.
The 3C listing further adds that the device will have 5G support. Apparently, there’s not much we know about the upcoming ROG Phone or whether it will carry the ROG Phone branding or not. With ROG Phone 3, Asus unveiled a ginormous 144Hz refresh rate and the upcoming gaming phone won’t be any different. Moreover, the device will have an edge-to-edge display as seen in the Weibo post. Lastly, the device will be powered by none other than the latest Snapdragon 888 and it is likely to arrive sooner than before.
Stay tuned as we will update you once more information is available about the speculated ASUS ROG Phone 4 or 5 here.
