We’re already aware of the fact that Huawei is bringing their next-gen Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro in the market by next month. At IFA 2018, the brand did reveal the lite variant along with the official launch date for the remaining two siblings. IFA (or Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin), which currently ongoing from August 31 to September 5, is one of the largest tech showcase events. No doubt, it is a pretty crowded and chaotic place thanks to the tech-enthusiasts desperately waiting to witness new products.

Interestingly, in this crowded place, someone managed to give us an important bit of information for the upcoming Huawei Mate 20. At the event, a photographer was able to shoot photos for what is the actual Huawei Mate 20 smartphone which is scheduled to release on October 16 in London.

Caught in the act: Not yet released Huawei Mate 20 spotted at IFA Berlin

The live photos are a little grainy with a bit stalking-line but well, at least now we know how the smartphone will actually look. The photos taken from all angles confirm that it will have a triple camera setup similar to how folks at XDA Developers leaked renders a few days ago with the same setup. The person holding the phone in such an exposing fashion seems like an official from Huawei with an intention to spark discussions on the web before Huawei could reveal it to the public on October 16.

But there is something that was different when compared to the previous leaks. The cut out for the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is unavailable in what we can assume as an engineering sample that engineers usually use before finalizing a gadget. Also, we couldn’t spot speakers at the bottom as there is no grill. But, as per some of the leaks, the Mate 20 series smartphones will have two speakers that is one at the top and another at the bottom.

But again, this could be an engineering sample as we said and not an actual product which is still six weeks away from the date of release. But at least we got an idea about how the smartphone will look in real along with its out-of-the-box triple camera setup arranged in a distinct 2×2 square with three lenses and a LED flash.

About the spec sheet released previously, the Huawei Mate 20 smartphone will have a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with 2244×1080 pixel resolution. Further, we know the device will run on Android 9.0 Pie along with the skin of EMUI 9.0 on top of stock Android. October 16 isn’t too far but I highly doubt that there won’t be any major reveals about the upcoming Mate 20 smartphone.
