If you thought the Galaxy S8 had thin bezels, you must know that the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 would take this game a step further. If the recently surfaced image is to be believed, the Galaxy Note 8 will feature even a better screen-to-body ratio, which means that the bezels on the phone would be even thinner than the Galaxy S8.
An image has surfaced on the Chinese social media website Weibo that allegedly shows the front panel of the Galaxy Note 8. The glass panel has characteristics similar to that of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Some of the recent reports have said that the Note 8 would come with a larger display than the Galaxy S8+.
Having a look at the leaked image, you will notice that there are no side bezels at all, while the ones on the top and bottom can’t even be called bezels, considering the thick forehead and chin that many of the current smartphones have, including the Apple iPhone.
A cut out is also visible on the top which reminds me of the recent iPhone 8 leak that had a similar cut at the top to house the earpiece, front camera and other sensors. Samsung is one of the first companies to incorporate an iris scanner on their smartphone, starting with the infamous Galaxy Note 8, so it naturally needs a bigger cut out to pack more sensors.
It may be a bit early to deem this leaked image a reliable source of any information about the Galaxy Note 8. It is better to take such leaks with a pinch of salt until we get to hear some official word from Samsung.
The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be the first device to run Snapdragon 836 processor and will come with 8GB of RAM. 256GB of onboard storage along with another top of the line features can be expected from the phone. Some of the rumors have suggested a launch time of late August.
