Time and again, it has become a template for Google products to leak ahead of time even before they make their debut. Google Pixel 7a is the latest entrant in the rumors circuit as the phone is expected to arrive at Google I/O 2023, the company’s annual developers’ conference. Cut to now, we have obtained a ton of updates on the device including the specifications and live images of the same.

Google Pixel 7a Release Date

Google I/O 2023 is set to happen on May 10 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. Although Google has refrained from naming any debutant products at the Google I/O 2023, we are certain with Android 14 as one of the products on the display. Google Pixel 7a (successor to Pixel 6a) is likely to make its announcement during the conference.

For the unversed, Google Pixel 6a arrived on May 11th i.e. the day Google I/O 2022 commenced. It gives May 10 as a key date for Pixel 7a to make its presence. Google Pixel 8 series is due this year as well although it will arrive later this year. Don’t expect any update regarding the same at Google I/O 2023 unless the tech giant chooses to include it.

Google Pixel 7a Leaked Specs & Live Images

According to GadgetsData, the upcoming Google Pixel 7a will bring onboard Google Tensor G2 SoC. It was designed to power Pixel 7 series and 7a belongs to the same series and thus, the processor of choice. There’s UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM as well although the specifics remain unavailable at the moment.

Further, the leaks and the live image show a humongous 6.1” FHD+ OLED panel buzzing at a 90Hz of refresh rate. It goes in line with a previous report on the display information for Pixel 7a thereby adding gravitas to it. The live images show considerable bezels around the edges although we will have to wait for more specifics about it as well.

Pixel 7a will also have a centrally-placed punch-hole cut-out for the front camera much like Pixel 6a. On the rear, we have a dual camera setup sporting a 64 MP Sony IMX787 snapper with 12MP ultra-wide lens. It will be a major move from the current-gen 12.2MP+12MP dual camera setup. Take it with a pinch though. We  will see a 5W wireless charging that wasn’t available in 6a.
