On November 24, Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro will launch in China. Even before the massive unveiling, the design and other elements of the phone have arrived, and here, we heard about the latest 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, so here’s more.
Now you can unlock your Honor 500 Pro faster with a new 3D fingerprint scanner
The latest update comes with respect to Honor 500’s fingerprint scanner. We are talking about the 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, which is better than optical ones. It unlocks both security and accuracy, and based on the report from Huawei Central, the Pro is able to unlock faster than previous generations.
Having a 3D FPS ensures greater security as the sensor is able to read through pores, fine lines, and ridges of your finger, ensuring no one gets access to your device without authorization. Honor claims the phone could unlock in just 0.1 seconds, even with a wet screen or when unlocking using wet hands.
On the contrary, traditional fingerprint sensors take 0.2 to 0.3 seconds to unlock without providing the same level of accuracy and security as the counterpart. The phone is indeed packed with an IP69K rating, and that’s what helped the ultrasonic FPS take the lead.
According to the leaked Honor 500 Pro specs, the phone brings on-board a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a triple rear cam consisting of a 200MP primary, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 50MP 3x optical zoom telephoto shooter.
Plus, we have a 50MP front shooter housed in a punch-hole cut-out. A massive 8,000 mAh battery on board takes care of all your battery requirements, plus an 80W wired charging. Other specs include a 6.55” LTPS flat OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
On the other hand, Honor 500 packs in a sub-level Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. All this while keeping the battery, screen, charging, primary cam, and front camera specs the same.
