Huawei unveiled the Honor 8 Lite in February this year at an event in China. It is now getting officially released in India on the 10th of May.
Along with having almost the exact same name, the phone also looks strikingly similar to the Honor 8 which the company launched last year. It packs a metal frame around it with a glass back, which gives it a very premium look. But, as the name suggests, it’s intended to be a slightly less featured phone. One of the things we can immediately notice is the missing dual-camera setup from the Honor 8, replacing it with a single camera.
Key specs of the Honor 8 Lite:
- Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.0
- Octa-core Kirin 655 Processor
- 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 Display
- 4 GB RAM
- 64 GB internal storage expandable up to 128 GB
- 12 MP Rear camera & 8MP front camera
- 3,000 mAh battery
Honor 8 Lite will be the first Huawei device to ship with EMUI 5.0., which packs in a lot of new features and a couple of visual changes. It was officially launched globally with varying RAM specifications, but it seems like they’ll only launch the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage option in India.
Although they’ve dubbed it as the Honor 8 ‘Lite’ the build and decent specs doesn’t really justify it; it seems to be rather, premium.
