Honor MagicBook Pro was showcased at IFA Berlin last year. The device got a favorable response from the critics largely because of it’s chipet. Honor MagicBook Pro has come with a 7nm Ryzen 4600H chipset coupled with Vega Radeon RX Vega 6 GPU back then. As most of you already know that device was launched when the company was a sub-division of Huawei. Huawei was banned by the US government almost two years ago as a result of US-China trade war. Despite being a excellent device Honor MagicBook Pro was remained unreleased for the same reason and is only was limited some European markets. But, Honor is no more with Huawei and now that the story has changed the company took CES as a platform to announce their MagicBook this year.
It is worth noting that the this year’s MagicBook Pro uses Intel’s chipset which is not as efficient as the AMD one that was launched last year. Moreover, it comes with a 10th generation Intel processor although the company has launched the 11th generation processors. This has to be the first Honor device to come out with a Intel chipset. Now that Honor is not a sub-division of Huawei anymore, it can use the components from US firms. On a bright side, this also lets the company to sell its laptops in markets like US and India. Honor MagicBook Pro 2021 comes powered by the Intel Core i5 10210U Chip coupled with NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU. The device sports a 16.1-inch display which is a Full-HD panel with 100 percent sRGB coverage. In terms of the ports, the device features three USB-A ports, 1 USB-C port, and also one HDMI connection, alongside the 3.5mm headphone jack.
MagicBook Pro also includes a fingerprint sensor that doubles as the a power button. There is also a pop-up webcam here.As for the battery life, the company claims to provide over 11 and a half an hour of uptime on a single charge, in courtesy of the 56Wh battery. Honor is also providing a 65W power adapter, which can be guaranteed to provide 50 percent charging in approximately half an hour. The company did not reveal anything around the availability but is confirmed to be priced at $1000 (roughly 73,400 INR)
Honor Band 6
Honor Band 6 was announced for global markets at CES 2021 today. The Band 6 comes with a bigger display compared to any other fitness bands from its competitors. The size of the display is 1.47 inch with a resolution of 194 x 368 pixels. The display is AMOLED one and comes with a 2.5D curved glass providing the premium look. There as no buttons on the facade of the device whatsoever given that the Band 6 uses gesture navigation. But to wake the device up, Honor added a physical button on the right of the device. On the left is where one can see the Honor branding.
With that said, let us talk features! The device comes with a support for 10 sports modes, blood oxygen level monitoring, TruSeen 4.0 24-hour heart-rate monitoring, TruSleep monitoring, and menstrual cycle monitoring, and the list goes on. The device also comes with Bluetooth 5.0, gyro, accelerometer, and optical heart rate sensors. Honor Band 6 is rated 5ATM for water resistance and all this is powered by 180 mAh battery that is promised to offer 14 days of life on a single charge. As far as the availability is concerned, the company has confirmed that the Honor Band 6 will be launched in select markets soon for a price of around $35 (roughly 2,569 INR). It is worth noting that the device was launched at 249 yuan in China which is almost similar to the global pricing. The company has not announced the list of countries where this new fitness band will be available yet!
