Honor is preparing for a big launch in China next month, most likely on October 15. The main spotlight will be on the Magic 8 smartphone series, but along with that, the company will also bring its new flagship tablet, the Honor MagicPad 3 Pro. Ahead of the launch, leaks from reliable sources like Digital Chat Station and Why Lab have already revealed the design and most of the key specifications.
Honor MagicPad 3 Pro could be first tablet with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
The biggest talking point is the processor. The Honor MagicPad 3 Pro could become the world’s first tablet to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. If true, it will give the device a massive jump in performance, making it strong for gaming, multitasking, and even creative work. To make sure all that power doesn’t drain the battery too fast, Honor is using its own E2 energy efficiency chip to manage heating and battery life.
Display and multimedia features
The display also looks impressive. The tablet is said to feature a large 13.3-inch LCD screen with 3200 × 2136 resolution. That is basically a 3.2K panel. It supports 165Hz refresh rate, which will make gaming and scrolling look very smooth.
On top of that, it comes with IMAX Enhanced certification, so it will be good for movies and media. The same display spec was already seen earlier this year on the MagicPad 3, so Honor is keeping it for the Pro model as well.
Battery and software
Powering the tablet is a huge 12,450mAh battery, same as the previous model. This should easily last long hours. Charging speed is not confirmed yet, but the size itself is good enough. On the software side, the tablet will run MagicOS 10, which is based on Android. One key feature is its cross-platform sharing support. This will let users transfer data easily between Android, iOS, and even HarmonyOS devices.
Colors and other expected features
Leaks also show the Honor MagicPad 3 Pro will come in three colors: Starry Gray, Floating Light Gold and Moon Shadow White. Other details like RAM, storage, camera setup and charging speed are still not clear.
Overall, from what we know so far, the Honor MagicPad 3 Pro is shaping up to be one of the most powerful Android tablets of the year. With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 3.2K display and a huge battery, Honor clearly wants to target the high-end market. The official event next month will confirm all the missing details and the price.
