After announcing Huawei Mate 20 Lite, it’s time for the brand to unveil the actual flagship smartphone. We’re talking about the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. During a keynote at IFA 2018, the brand confirmed the launch date of both the flagship smartphone. The smartphones will see the official unveiling at a special event in London on October 16.
The Mate 20 series will be the first smartphones to come with the recently announced HiSilicon Kirin 980. The chipset is developed on a 7nm manufacturing process and is said to be the world’s fastest mobile chipset. As per the brand, this new chipset will give 37% higher performance when compared to the processors built with 10nm process. Yep! the brand is indirectly talking about the Snapdragon 845.
The Huawei’s Mate 20 series will come in three different variants – Mate 20 Lite, Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. As the name suggests, the smartphones are the successor of the previously launched Mate 10 series. Just to summarize, the upcoming Mate 20 series will sport a triple camera set up at the back, 6.3-inch AMOLED displays with water drop notch similar to Oppo R17 and a massive 4,200 mAH battery and of course, wireless charging and glass and metal fused body.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is in the headlines due to many reasons including the shipment figures that dictate that Huawei has actually surpassed Cupertino-based Apple Inc. in terms of unit shipped replacing it at the second position and just behind Samsung and then, there’s the new Kirin 980 SoC that was recently launched at the IFA show in Berlin but that’s not all.
The official launch event is still a month away so we’re expecting other leaks and images to surface on the internet. If you’re not aware, the brand also announced the Mate 20 Lite which comes with Kirin 970.
