Huawei has officially launched the Mate X6, its latest foldable smartphone, which was promised during teasers. With the most advanced display technology, powerful build, and cutting-edge communication capabilities, the Huawei Mate X6 stands as a premium addition in the foldable market. It is already open for pre-orders in China with a sale date scheduled on December 6, 2024.
Immersive dual displays
Huawei Mate X6 flagship packs the 7.93-inch foldable OLED display with a maximum brightness of 1800 nits. An immersive view is provided by the 6.45-inch external OLED panel at a maximum brightness of 2500 nits. LTPO technology is used in both screens to support dynamic 1–120Hz refresh rates, while high-frequency PWM dimming at 1440Hz improves eye comfort.
Reinforced design for durability
Designed with distributed basalt architecture, the Huawei Mate X6 focuses on the durability and reliability aspects. The second-generation Kunlun Glass provides toughness, and carbon fiber support layers combined with the basalt water-drop hinge give the device its strength, while ultra-high thermal conductivity graphene is used for enhanced heat dissipation.
First-of-its-kind triple-network satellite communication
The Huawei Mate X6 Collector’s Edition sets a new benchmark in communication technology by supporting triple-network satellite communications, a first for mass-market smartphones. This innovation ensures uninterrupted connectivity even in remote areas and is slated for public testing in 2025.
Camera setup
Huawei Mate X6 comes with quad-camera system with f/1.4–f/4.0 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization 50MP main sensor. The quad set also includes a 40MP ultra-wide angle lens, as well as an OIS-equipped 48MP 4x periscope telephoto camera with up to 100x zoom, while the smartphone also comes with a 1.5MP red maple multi-spectral camera for capturing near-macrophotography shots down to 5cm. In addition, dual 8MP cameras on the inner and outer displays complete the setup for selfies and video calls.
Performance and battery
Huawei Mate X6 runs with HarmonyOS 4.3, with future upgrades to HarmonyOS NEXT. Power users will enjoy storage and RAM up to 16GB, as well as up to 1TB storage. It is also powered by a strong 5110mAh battery inside, 5200mAh in the Collector’s Edition, that delivers fast charging at 66W via cable and 50W wirelessly.

Huawei Mate X6 is available in a variety of elegant color options, including Obsidian Black, Cosmic Red, Deep Sea Blue, Nebula White, and Nebula Gray.
