Huawei Nova 3i and Nova 3 goes official in India, Amazon exclusive devices

Huawei finally announced their two new smartphones in the Indian market – Huawei Nova 3i and Huawei Nova 3. The brand unveiled the smartphone at an event in New Delhi. Both the smartphones have already made its way into the Chinese market. Some of the key features are dual camera setup at the back as well as the front, GPU Turbo technology, flagship-level processor and much more.

The Nova 3i as well as Nova 3 are both available exclusively on Amazon India and is up for pre-order starting from today. Both the smartphone shares identical features to some extent. Both the smartphone comes with two unique features which are based on Artificial Intelligence. The smart shopping feature lets you find an item online fast and hassle-free by simply a two-finger long press on the image.

Huawei Nova 3 falls more towards the flagship segment. The device comes with a large 6.3-inch Full HD+ display having an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and 85 percent NTSC colour gamut. The device does have a narrow notch on the front housing dual camera setup as well as some sensors. For those notch haters out there, you do get an option in the software to hide it. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset coupled with Mali-G72 GPU.  The processor gives you flagship-level performance, speed, and responsiveness. When it comes storage, the smartphone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. You can also expand the storage via MicroSD up to 256GB.

In terms of optics, the Huawei Nova 3 has a dual camera setup at the back consisting of 16-megapixel primary sensor with a f/1.8 aperture and a 24-megapixel secondary sensor with a f/1.8 aperture. Like the back, the front has dual camera sensors – 24-megapixel primary sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. All the four cameras support AI-related features. The rear cameras come with 22 different scenes and objects which delivers phenomenal shots claims Huawei. The front camera, on the other hand, has AI-driven selfies which support 8 different scenes optimizing images in real-time. You also get a Qmoji feature just like the one found in Apple iPhone X.

Combine the Kirin 970 chipset and GPU Turbo technology, you’ll get an immersive gaming experience. If you’re not aware, Huawei’s GPU Turbo tech improves the performance by 60% while reducing the power consumption by 30%. Looking at the stats, no doubt you’ll be getting amazing gaming performance than the flagship devices out there.

Speaking of the biometric security, the smartphone has a fingerprint sensor at the back as well as IR Face Unlock. As per the brand, this Face Unlock feature works in all light conditions. All of this runs on the latest version of EMUI 8.2 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. The device receives power from a large 3750mAh battery. Other specifications include Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual nano SIM with dual VOLTE.

The Huawei Nova 3i, on the other hand, is on the mid-budget segment. The device also comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LTPS display having an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and a pixel density of 409ppi. Like the Novia 3, the device has a narrow notch on the front housing two camera sensors and other sensors. Again, you do get an option to hide the notch. Under the hood, there is an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM.

This is the first smartphone to come with this processor which does has AI-capabilities inside. This 710 processor delivers great performance with a cheaper price tag. Consider this processor an equivalent to what Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 delivers. It comes in only one storage variant having 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable via MicroSD up to 256GB.

Speaking of cameras, you’ll get vertically aligned dual cameras with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The front again has two camera sensors with a 24-megapixel being the primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. This device also comes with AI-related features built in the cameras such as AI-selfie master. The hardware level HDR Pro promises to deliver precision-balanced photos which the higher Nova 3 also supports. It is worth noting that Huawei Nova 3i supports 16X super slow motion mode recording videos at 480 frames per second.

This one also comes with GPU Turbo system delivers insane gaming performance thanks to a 12nm processor. It also has a fingerprint sensor at the back, as well as Face Unlock feature. The brand calls it 360-degree face unlock which works in all-direction. All of this runs on EMUI 8.2 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and a 3340mAh battery packed inside. Other specifications include Bluetooth v4.2, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual nano SIM with dual VOLTE.

The flagship disguise Nova 3 comes in only one storage variant having 6GB RAM/128GB storage which will set you back Rs. 34,999. On the other hand, the Nova 3i has 4GB RAM/ 128GB inbuilt storage variant which is priced at Rs. 20,990. Both the smartphone is available in two colour options – Iris Purple and Black. The Iris Purple no doubt looks appealing and premium.

Both the smartphone is up for pre-order on Amazon India website. The Nova 3i will go on sale from August 7 while the Nova 3 on August 23.
