Highlights
  • iOS 19 reportedly enters development bearing codename 'Luck'.
  • watchOS 12, macOS 16, and VisionOS 3 will accompany the same as they gear up for launch later next year.
  • iOS 19 rumors might be premature, however, Apple requires these software well in advance to test next fleet of devices which makes sense.

Apple has reportedly begun development for iOS 19 and all accompanying operating systems. The information comes from a reputed source Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in his latest ‘Power On’ newsletter putting more context on the story.

Even before iOS 18 hits the markets publicly, Apple is well-headed with the development of iOS 19

Apple has begun developing iOS 19 and visionOS 3, macOS 16, and watchOS 12 well ahead of its launch next year. These are known as Luck, Discovery, Cheers, and Nepali, respectively.  However, don’t be stunned since development for these OSes is in-line with the usual schedule. Apple requires the new software to test out upcoming devices i.e, the iPhone 17 series, newer Macs, and Apple Watch among others.

iOS 19 enters development

This might seem premature given iOS 18 is still unavailable for public users. iOS 18 entered beta testing earlier this year followed by its official public launch in a few weeks from today. iOS 19 will begin its beta testing earlier next year which gives Apple almost half a year to develop the same and prepare for the beta release in early 2025.

Unfortunately, we aren’t aware of any information regarding iOS 19 or its accompanying software for Vision Pro headsets, Apple Watch, Macs, and iPad devices. We do know for sure that Apple will play it big with Apple Intelligence (AI) features for the upcoming just the way it did with iOS 18.

Our iOS 19 rumors may feel short of the matter, however, it is just too early to comment on the same so let’s keep a tab on it.
