  • Apple has started working on iPhone 18 series with the Pro lineup powered by A20 Pro chipsets.
  • DCS mentions Apple working on a transparent back design that draws a parallel with what Nothing is doing on its phones.
  • The camera island that stretches from side-to-side will remain unchanged.

The iPhone 17 series is going on sale this Friday, but it seems like the leaks are already over that. Apparently, iPhone 18 Pro design rumors have already started pouring in, showing a rather translucent back design and a triple camera arrangement much like iPhone 17 Pro.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, the Apple iPhone 18 Pro series is rumored to arrive with screen sizes of 6.3” for the Pro and 6.9” for the Pro Max. This is similar to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro series. Although not much will change, the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to take on a slightly transparent design.

The specifics remain unknown, DCS says that the MagSafe area or the Ceramic Shield area on the back panel of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will have a transparent element. This puts the series in line with what Nothing has been doing for ages.

There’s not much of a major change in terms of design, which is usually the case with multiple iPhone models before Apple can introduce an overhaul.

Moving ahead, the iPhone 18 Pro models will feature a stainless steel-made vapor chamber system. The current system uses an unclear material fused with the aluminum unibody, although it is just a matter of days until we get our unit and can review the same.

Commercial Times from Taiwan says the iPhone 18 Pro models will feature Apple A20 Pro chips. This is quite obvious as Apple delivers incremental chipsets to Pro models every year, and this won’t be any exception. The chipset will be made on a 2nm process, something MediaTek and Samsung are planning to do with Dimensity 9500 and Exynos 2600 SoC, respectively.

We don’t have much information on iPhone 18 Pro design rumors as of now. It is still too early to comment on it, given that the series will only launch in September next year. A last bit of information reveals that the Cupertino-based giant could take on a smaller Dynamic Island, probably by keeping the Face ID unit separated.
