If you have been following the tech world closely then you must be aware that the newest iPhones are now facing the battery issues. Some people have reported of a swollen battery on their newly purchased iPhone 8 Plus. After a lot of people reported a similar issue online and elsewhere, Apple has now taken notice of it and has confirmed to be investigating them.
The last time any such thing happened was with the Galaxy Note 7 last year, but the matter was a bit more serious there. The Galaxy Note 7 caught fire and in many cases exploded and the cause was later revealed to the battery. In the case of the iPhone 8 Plus, the battery of the phone is swelling causing the back panel to bulge out. While not as serious as explosions, it still is a battery-gate.
At least six such cases have been reported by the users in countries like Japan, China, Hong Kong, Canada, Greece, and Taiwan. At an instance, a user in Japan reported that the iPhone 8 Plus was delivered in a bad shape with the display already detached from the body.
While the Taiwanese media reported about a local user who claimed that the five-day-old iPhone 8 Plus popped open while charging. This has happened when the user was charging the phone with the in-box accessories. A number of photos of the damaged iPhone 8 Plus units have been posted online.

In a communication with a number of publications, Apple has confirmed that they are looking into these incidents. The actual cause of this issue is not known yet but Apple has always been quick at handling such issues and providing a resolution. The most probable cause is the swelling of the battery.
Apple might want to find the actual cause of the issue and fix it at the earliest as the iPhone X launch isn’t far away now. The battery issue can also affect the iPhone X sales to slow down if it isn’t resolved.
