CES 2018 is right around the corner and it is a perfect place to witness some of the most remarkable technological innovations. This time from LG, it is a rollable display that you can just roll like a newspaper. And it is an actual 65-inch OLED TV with a 4K resolution! The company will be showcasing it at the CES 2018.
For the record, it is a prototype TV and hasn’t entered mass production just yet. Besides, this isn’t the first rollable OLED TV from the company, in fact, it had made an 18-inch rollable display four years back. LG Display was able to bring its tech to a larger panel of 65 inches which would be better than an 18-inch one any day.
LG has a great lineup of interesting TVs to showcase this year. The company revealed the largest 8K TV quite recently that measured 88 inches corner-to-corner. This 65-inch rollable OLED TV is also the first for this size, and considering the 18-inch one had a 720p resolution, it is quite a giant leap to have a 4K panel that could actually roll.
It is worth noting that currently available high-end stiff OLED TVs are finding it hard to get inside people’s living rooms, mostly because of their sky-high prices. By that means, rollable displays still have a few more years before being widely available. Nevertheless, sometime in the future, we would be able to roll our TVs and keep them out of sight inside a box, just like LG wants it to be.
