LG has rolled out the Android 8.0.0 Oreo update via OTA to the LG V20 smartphones that were introduced in September 2016. The first versions to receive the updates are F800K, F800K, and F800S and it will be available only in South Korea as of now. The Oreo update bearing version ‘V20c-JUL-06-2018’ is a 1669.34MB file with a plethora of features that the users would enjoy with the new update.
Few of the changes that the users will see are discussed here. The new OS update will bring in a plethora of features and changes to the user interface such as new icon shapes. Android has added 10 levels of adjustments along with a blue light filter that reduces the strain on the user’s eyes during the night. The Settings tool has been revamped with a new layout. The notification tray has been reworked to assemble notifications from the same apps in a single tab to prevent clutter on the panel.
The user will get various performance and battery optimizations and boasts that will limit background apps and processes and thus, expect a faster load. These are just a few of the changes that the LG V20 users will get once they have updated their OS to the newer version i.e. Android 8.0.0 Oreo.
LG sends out latest updates to South Korean users first as a type of wide soak test that helps the tech giant to assess and evaluate how the update works and then, it will finally roll out the Oreo update to all other countries in coming weeks.
