Another picture of the Mi MIX 2S has leaked in the wild giving us a look at the phone’s back. While its predecessor sported a single rear camera, this year’s MIX smartphone from Xiaomi is expected to launch with dual cameras. As it can be seen in the image, the cameras’ position will be changed while the overall look of the back is similar to that of Mi MIX 2 kept beside it.
Xiaomi had launched its mid-range Redmi Note 5 Pro in India a few weeks back that had its camera housing placed in the top left corner with the two camera sensors placed vertically. In the image, the Mi MIX 2S can be seen taking inspiration from the Redmi Note 5 Pro with its camera housing very similar to that of Xiaomi’s lower-end device. The fingerprint scanner is still in the centre, where it practically should be until under-display scanners become as ubiquitous.
The Mi MIX 2S can be seen to have a glossy finish on its back suggesting the use of glass or ceramic, like the current MIX device does, which is sitting on the right. Both the devices seem to share the rear finish and probably also the material used. The “Mi MIX Designed by Xiaomi” markings can be seen in the centre, that again is borrowed from other smartphones in the MIX lineup.
While this image doesn’t show the phone’s front, we have witnessed plenty of leaks in the past that have revealed its near bezel-less front. Some of the previous leaks suggested that the handset will come with an iPhone X-like notch while others revealed an edge-to-edge display with a small cut-out in the top right corner to house the front-facing camera. A video had also leaked showing how the Mi MIX 2S will make use of gestures for navigating through the OS.
With a teaser image, Xiaomi has already confirmed that the phone will come boasting a Snapdragon 845 chipset that helped the device score 273,741 points on AnTuTu, as mentioned in the image. The Chinese brand will be announcing the device on March 27.
