Another day, another Motorola smartphone has been launched. Dubbed as the Moto G50 5G, the smartphone launched on Wednesday in Australia and packs in a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC under the hood which sets it apart from the Moto G50 (aka G50 4G) which is powered by Snapdragon 480. Here’s everything you need to know about the device.
According to the specs sheet, the device packs in a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel boasting a 90Hz refresh rate. There’s a tiny waterdrop-shaped notch on the top bezel that encapsulates a 13MP selfie shooter. Flip the phone and you will see a triple rear camera setup much like G50. The setup has three giant lenses housing a 48MP primary, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor of which two sensors are placed slightly above the third one.
Moto G50 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC under the hood and it is paired with a 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage and it comes with a SD card slot. On the software front, the device runs on Android 11-powered My UX out-of-the-box.
The phone packs in NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, , Bluetooth v5.0 with LE and A2DP among others. As it is a 5G supported device, the phone supports various SA and NSA bands along with LTE-A. It has a Dual Hybrid SIM setup. Luckily, the phone adopts a water-repellent design although without any official rating so you need to keep that in mind.
The phone gets its backup from a 5,000 mAh battery supplied with a 15W fast charging tech. Finally, the device arrives at a price tag of AUD 399 or $289 which puts it in a expensive side of the table. You can check out the Meteorite Green and Gray color variants in Australia.
