The long wait finally comes to an end as Nokia has finally announced the Nokia 5 & Nokia 3 today at the MWC 2017 event. Along with the re-launch of the iconic Nokia 3310. Talking about the Nokia 5 and 3, both these smartphones are actually the slightly lower-end variants of the Nokia 6 that was launched last month in China. And today, the company announced that Nokia 6 is going global & will retail for around 242 USD.
All the three Nokia’s Android phones have been manufactured with the superior craftsmanship and feature the single block of 6000-series Aluminium. The company claims its devices to have one of the best build quality.
At the event, HMD announced that the Nokia smartphones would ship globally with the purest Android experience and receive the latest software updates. Just like the newly announced LG G6, Nokia 6, 5 & 3 have the Google Assistant built-in. If you don’t know, the Google Assistant For Android Marshmallow & Nougat devices is coming this week. Let’s talk about Nokia 5, Nokia 3 & Nokia 3310 one-by-one.
NOKIA 5 SPECIFICATIONS
Starting off with the display, it has a 5.2-inch HD panel and has a beautiful aluminum build with a 3D shape. It will be available in four different colors including Blue, Copper, Black & Silver. It runs on Android Nougat with the Pure Android experience, and as the presentation revealed, it has the same UI as on the Pixel devices. Since the company has promised regular Android updates, we hope that Nokia’s Android phones will be among the companies providing fastest Android updates.
Talking briefly about the design, the Nokia 5 features a clean back without any Antenna Lines, and if you’re wondering, they have been moved to the top and the bottom of the phone. The display has the sculpted Gorilla Glass which makes the phone more gorgeous and protective. Coming to the camera section, the Nokia 5 features a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection AutoFocus and Dual-Tone LED flash. There is also an 8MP wide-angle front-facing camera for the perfect selfies.
Performance wise, the Nokia 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor along with 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via external microSD card slot. There is also NFC inbuilt in the Nokia 5 which is surely a good thing. The Nokia 5 will retail for around 189 Euros or 200$.
NOKIA 3 SPECIFICATIONS
If you are looking for a Nokia device but a compact one, then the Nokia 3 is for you. It is a beautiful looking smartphone with a compact form factor. The phone sports a 5-inch display with the same Sculpted Gorilla Glass on the top. It has a polycarbonate body with an aluminum frame. The phone packs 8MP cameras on both rear and front with wide angle lens. Just like the 5, the Nokia 3 has some useful sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, and NFC for sharing. It too features a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek 6737 processor with 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB.
Under the hood, it too runs on Android Nougat with pure Android experience. It will retail globally for around 139 Euros or $146.
LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, WELCOME THE ‘NEW’ NOKIA 3310
Nokia 3310 is the ‘indestructible’ smartphone from the company that was launched back in 2000 and today; the phone has been re-launched with an all new design and software. There is no more the monochrome display as it has been replaced by the 2.4-inch colored one. The 3310 has a battery with talk time of 22H and standby time of 1 Month! Yes, you read right. This is almost 10X more than what the old Nokia 3310 offered. The new Nokia 3310 now comes with the rear camera, and it is a 2MP sensor the LED flash. There is 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB.
Missed the snake game? Well, the re-launched Nokia 3310 has the Snake game with a little update that makes it even more fun to play on the color screen. It will be available in four colors including Warm Red, Yellow, Dark Blue, and Grey. It is worth mentioning that Warm Red and Yellow have Gloss Finish whereas the Dark Blue and Grey have the Matte finish. The phone will be priced at around $52 or Rs. 3,500
