We know that Nvidia has announced a new top-end GPU in its lineup which is the RTX 3090 Ti and that this will be a graphics card that will be inside the most powerful CPUs of the world.

However, there seems to be some issue with either the production or maybe the design of RTX 3090 Ti GPUs because it is reported that Nvidia has “halted production” for these GPUs even before its launch.

According to reports from sources related to Tweaktown and Videocardz, Nvidia has halted the production but they say that they didn’t know why Nvidia asked them to stop the production which means that there was no issue in the production line.

It seems as if the issue is related to either the design of this GPU or it may be related to the global chip shortage that the world is facing. If it is the former, it is possible that the GPU could be overheating which would cause the company to halt its production and do some tweaks in its design.

Videocardz reports that they have talked to their sources and “According to them, there are issues with both the BIOS and hardware. The details are not yet known, so it is unclear if board partners will be required to revise the boards that were already made or they need to wait for a solution from NVIDIA. In any case, we will provide an update on this situation as soon as we learn more,”

It is also worth noting that the RTX 3090 Ti GPU was set to be launched at an event on January 27 by the company. Now, it seems like that launch event will be delayed because sources have confirmed that the production has indeed been halted.

While Nvidia has declined to comment on this matter, we will let you know if there is any official word about this production halt.
