The OnePlus 5T is getting quite a few variants, in terms of colour and design. And now, it looks like the company is getting ready to launch the OnePlus 6. OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, in an interview with CNET, has just confirmed that his company will approach UScarriers for providing its upcoming phones under contract and this might be a plan OnePlus is having to disrupt the western market when they launch the OnePlus 6.

Most of the smartphone sales in the USA come from these telecom carriers that allow the buyers to pay for the phone’s cost along with the network charges in monthly installments generally of 24 months. By not catering that segment of the market, OnePlus was missing out on a majority of prospective buyers. He also said that it is the right time and opportunity for OnePlus to scale up and also mentioned that the next OnePlus flagship will be launched by the end of Q2, 2018.

OnePlus 5T - Oneplus 6 coming out soon

If OnePlus manages to crack the deal with carriers in the US, as it will put OnePlus in line with higher-profile distribution partners and derive better sales via carriers. As of now, OnePlus 5T is “the fastest-and best-selling product” since its launch in November, according to OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei.

This interview also revealed that OnePlus 6, the next flagship from OnePlus will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845. Till now, OnePlus has been maintaining the status of flagship killer with the best available specs at the most affordable price. And OnePlus has been selling its products through its own and partner online websites and it was only recently, that the company began partnering with carriers in Europe.

However, Lau clarified that right now he isn’t sure whether the company will be launching a second phone in 2018, but OnePlus somehow managed to do the same in the past two years, by launching the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5T, months after they launched the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5 respectively.
