The new OnePlus 6T is coming very soon and obviously, it is not a secret anymore. But the secret can be predicted from the blog title. The OnePlus 6T is set to come with updated software with major UI and gestures changes that will make user experience better.
From an official announcement, we have come to know that OnePlus is working with new UI and advanced navigation gestures which will be coming up with OnePlus 6T. We already know that it will have an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, no headphone jack, and a waterdrop notch but couples of day ago a OnePlus Staff Member posted an interview with User Experience Lead, Crayon Hsiehhas, that Oxygen OS will ‘FSE‘ which means, ‘Fast, Smooth, and Efficient’.
Gestures will be a great sum up of Google’s Android Pie and Apple’s iOS gestures like swiping up from the center bottom will minimize the current window and switching apps will be possible by flicking navigation bar to right or left. Further, OnePlus explains that Google Assistant access will be eased out on OnePlus 6T gestures too.
“We’ve made Navigation Gestures smoother overall. Whenever you swipe up in an app, the application window will follow your finger, making for a more natural experience. It’s also faster in two ways: with a quick flick from the bottom of the screen towards the right of your screen, you can change between 2 recently used apps. As there’s no navigation bar when using gestures, users weren’t able to double-tap the “recents” button to quickly switch between apps. This new gesture provides a quick and easy substitute. Another thing users couldn’t do with Gestures in version 1 was quickly accessing Google Assistant. That’s why we’ve added a new action: just hold the power button for 0.5s to activate Google Assistant.”
Additionally, the OnePlus employee said that along with FSE, their team is working and putting a lot of efforts with OnePlus 6T’s camera performance.
Unfortunately, at this time while we are posting this blog we don’t have any screenshot or pictures which will show up the new UI and gestures but soon we will have it and will be posted to our social handles.
