OnePlus is one of the most acclaimed Chinese flagship smartphone makers with a number of high-end devices half the price of a regular flagship phone from bigwigs like Samsung and Apple. After the launch of OnePlus 6T few weeks ago, the upcoming OnePlus 7 is in tow to launch sometime in April or May 2019 and the moniker is pretty much non-confusing because of the nomenclature that OnePlus utilizes to name its smartphones. The most interesting thing about OnePlus 7 is that a new render video has been posted by YouTube revealing insights on the look and appearance of the phone.
The video made by DBS Designing was posted on YouTube showcases 2019 OnePlus 7 with a complete bezel-less design although it is highly unlikely that OnePlus will be able to grab a full edge-to-edge display since no other brand has been able to pull it off until now. OnePlus 7 will offer a near bezel-less display ironically with a Vivo Find X-esque slider design. Yes, OnePlus could opt for a slider design to house its front-camera setup and other sensors although the rear cameras will stay put on the back panel.
According to the renders, OnePlus 7 could have a dual-camera setup at the front and the much-anticipated triple camera setup at the back arranged in a Huawei P20 Pro-like vertical housing protruding few millimeters above the back panel. We could expect a different type of sensor or at least a different focal length and sensor size for the three cameras while didn’t make a cut in OnePlus 6T as it was earlier speculated.
Moving on, OnePlus could opt for a differently colored volume rocker similar to Google Pixel 3 where the power button is on the right with alert slider while the rocker is located on the left.
Although the specs sheet for OnePlus 7 is not out yet, we can expect it to pull off Snapdragon 855 octa-core chipset along with a 4G X24 modem supporting 4G connection while 5G variant from OnePlus is expected to roll out in early 2019 probably before OnePlus 7 rolls out, however, we are still figuring out how the Chinese OEM will be able to pull such a colossal task of launching two phones back-to-back in the first half of 2019.
Apart from that, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition came with OnePlus’s proprietary 22.5W Warp Charger which is anyhow faster than its Dash Charger. Based on the company’s progress, there won’t be any headphone jack as seen in the video while an in-display fingerprint scanner will be available accompanied with facial recognition and possibly a larger than 3,700 mAh battery size. Check out the latest bit on upcoming OnePlus 5G that will be launched early next year too.
