The OnePlus 9 series is going to be huge and there’s no doubt about it. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau posted a string of short videos showcasing the capability of its new LTPO AMOLED display. It supports adaptive refresh rate dialing up all the way to 120Hz when subjected to intensive tasks while it can go as low as 1Hz when showing a static display

Having a display with an adaptive refresh rate allows the device to save battery when a higher refresh rate is not required. Anyways, Lau mentioned that not all 120Hz panels are born the same way and thus, its LTPO AMOLED panel is actually superior in many ways. Although the Chinese smartphone maker didn’t provide any input of touch sampling rate, it is said to be higher allowed input quicker than before. In fact, the video shows a quicker rate when compared to Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. We will still have to wait to see the exact frequency.

Plus, there’s a 5-layer gaming-grade cooling system that the OnePlus 9 Pro will imbibe that will keep the Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood as fast as possible.

According to the smartphone brand, the OnePLus 9 series will have a giant AMOLED panel with 1440p+ resolution and will support a 10-bit color display. This is a massive upgrade from an 8-bit color system.

OnePlus 9 series is scheduled to arrive on March 23 so watch out this space for more updates.
