Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is gearing up for its biggest launch this year with the OnePlus 13, however, it is no surprise that OnePlus Ace 5 series launch is in the pipeline as well.
As identified as the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro, both models are expected to launch sometime in November in China. In fact, tipster Digital Chat Station sheds information on the phone including its launch timeline and camera specs.
OnePlus Ace 5 Series Camera Specifications Leaked
There have been multiple reports regarding the OnePlus Ace 5 series camera. Cut to now, we have another report from DCS, saying that the firm will use 50MP Sony IMX9-series sensors across both phones. There’s a 50MP telephoto lens as well along with an unknown ultra-wide lens.
Eventually, both models will get a triple rear camera setup at the back. We will find out the exact specs of the OnePlus Ace 5 series soon.
OnePlus Ace 5 Series Launch Delayed
When it comes to the launch timeline, the OnePlus Ace 5 series was scheduled to originally launch alongside the OnePlus 13 in China. However, tipster Digital Chat Station mentions that the models aren’t going to be released until the end of December 2024, or early January 2025.
It means there will be a considerable gap between the OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus Ace 5 series. The change will also reflect in the global launch as the OnePlus Ace 5 will be rebranded as the OnePlus 13R for the global market in early 2025. It remains to be seen if the above-mentioned timeline becomes reality.
OnePlus Ace 5 Series Specifications (Expected)
Coming to the overall specs, the OnePlus Ace 5 is expected to feature last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC while the Ace 5 Pro reportedly takes on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Yes, this will be the same as the OnePlus 13, although there will be significant tweaks such as the use of plastic over glass back.
Apart from that, both the models are likely to house a BOE X2 OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Again, this is likely to be similar to OnePlus 13 making it almost a sibling but in a different price segment.
Further, OnePlus has already confirmed the use of glacier technology for portable battery on-board. The Ace 5 series is expected to house a 6,000mAh battery clubbed with 100W flash-changing tech. The new tech allows OnePlus to pack in a larger battery without increasing the weight or the size of the battery itself.
